OPERATIONS MANAGER

This role will be responsible for product and process quality to ensure the highest level of customer and consumer satisfaction.  P&L responsibilities include: Manufacturing Margin, Warehousing, and Distribution.  Position will oversee all aspects of Operations, including production planning and forecasting, sourcing / procurement, supplier relationships, overseeing production, QA, inventory management, logistics and supply chain management, as well as direct sales fulfillment.  As a critical member of a startup team, you will also have the opportunity to make meaningful impact in other functional areas of the company, such as new product development and commercialization.

Supply Chain

  • Develop and implement plans to significantly reduce COGS across the supply chain (raw materials, packaging, finished goods, warehousing, and freight)
  • Work in conjunction with CEO and sales team to develop S&OP forecasts
  • Develop processes and manage the order processing and fulfillment functions
  •  Manage MRP and inventory of all raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
  • Effectively building and maintaining strong relationships with all supplier partners.  Ensure current suppliers have adequate capacity to meet company’s growth projections, work with suppliers to improve the reliability and efficiency of the supply chain
  • Identification of new supplier partners as needed to ensure both capacity and quality needs are being met
  • Establish additional procedures and metrics to measure operational efficiency, such as manufacturing yield

Manufacturing / Quality

  • Oversee manufacturing / production runs
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during production
  • Continuously ensure or improve product quality
  • Maintain/develop raw material, packaging, and finished product specifications
  • Maintain/develop all required product certifications (e.g., Organic, Non-­GMO Project, Kosher, etc.)
  • Develop and issue manufacturing instructions for new products and processes

The position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and will require some regular travel.


SALES & MARKETING MANAGER

This position requires strategic leadership and exceptional business management skills.  The Sales & Marketing Director is responsible for all Sales and Marketing-related initiatives and activities.  S/he will lead the development and implementation of Sales strategies, objectives, and tactics.  The Sales Director will also develop opportunities to increase sales across all channels and geographies.  

Sales

  • Develop sales strategy and planning, implement sales plans to achieve sales targets
  • Manage and oversee a network of brokers and distribution partners; motivate and energize broker partners to achieve company’s sales objectives
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with key customers and retail accounts
  • Develop promotional plans, trade spend, and work within budget guidelines to achieve sales objectives (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Sales forecasting and update sales plans to achieve company’s revenue and strategic goals
  • Analyze sales data and track sales performance against objectives

Marketing 

  • Become an industry expert, staying on top of consumers’ evolving needs and market trends
  • Design and implement Marketing programs
  • Collaborate with PR agency on PR strategy and execution
  • Manage development of package design 
  • Source and develop brand partnerships
  • Event planning and execution (including trade shows)
  • Oversight of digital marketing including: website, ecommerce, social media, SEO/SEM
  • Manage creative resources, create brand assets and all Marketing collateral

New Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new retailers and customers in new channels to meet strategic goals set annually
  • Build and deliver effective presentations to brokers / distributors / customers 
  • Establish relationships with and sell to new accounts and channels

  • Experience managing brokers, distributor, retailers

  • Proven track record of sales achievement
  • Desire to pitch in where needed - we're a small, but growing company, so no room for oversized egos or people who believe a task is beneath them

MARKETING AND OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE / ANALYST

We are seeking a diligent, detail-oriented individual to support critical day-to-day activities.  This role is full-time.  At a minimum, the responsibilities include the below.  With demonstrated interest and ability, the role can expand to a broader scope and greater responsibilities.  You will gain firsthand experience and insight into a CPG startup.  Responsibilities include:

Marketing 

  • Developing and managing grassroots marketing initiatives. Identify appropriate opportunities and organize involvement in events.  Includes in-store demo program and performing demos as necessary
  • Design and execute marketing material and collateral
  • Support all Sales & Marketing efforts, working closely with external Sales & Marketing team to ensure proper submission of paperwork and product samples to potential customers
  • Quantitative analysis to establish metrics and maintain visibility into how the business is performing
  • Update and continually improve website
  • Develop and manage social media
  • Operations
  • Managing webstore and fulfilment, including packing and shipping orders
  • Purchasing and managing logistics; identifying lowest-cost freight and arranging freight shipments.  Scheduling and coordinating inbound and outbound movement of raw materials and finished goods
  • Support all Operational efforts

Qualifications:
